Loaded Movement Training 03:41
Loaded Movement Training (LMT) can be defined as Task-Specific, Whole-Body Integrated, Multi-Planar exercise that involves moving or resisting an external load. While traditional training often focuses on specific muscle groups (Chest Day, Arm Day, Leg Day etc), Loaded Movement Training focuses on enhancing specific movement skills (Lifting, Shifting, Shovelling, Chopping, Swinging etc).
Proposed Benefits of LMT include enhancing:
- Tensile Strength in the connective tissues of the body
- Resiliency in Multi-directional movements
- Movement Competency
- Coordination
- Aerobic Capacity
- Joint Health
We'll explore these potential adaptations and the benefits of LMT in greater detail in Chapter 3.
