Male Reproductive System: Endocrine Adaptations 04:31
The Testosterone:Cortisol (T:C) ratio is often used as a physiological marker for stress and overtraining/overreaching. Under chronic stress, cortisol levels rise, disrupting the T:C ratio, resulting in a drop in Testosterone which may lead to:
- Decreased muscle mass and strength
- Decreased metabolism
- Increase Fat accumulation
- Lower bone mineral density
- Decreased motivation
- Increased fatigue
- Low libido
- Low sperm count
- Hair Loss
- Depression and mood swings
- Trouble with cognition
