GAR Recovery Sessions are useful to have as a personal trainer or strength coach due to the physical activity required to promote GAR methods. The key is to select movements that drive parasympathetic tone, which may be challenging considering how often we program sympathetic stress for our workouts. This is a great opportunity to work-in in the pool if you have the environment available. Otherwise Yoga, Tai Chi and other similar modalities can be considered.
GAR Recovery Days are very useful for clients who need to stay physically active or break up sedentarism. We like to couple GAR with Mindfulness or social activities to foster greater recovery benefits.
