Recovery is an essential component to achieving optimal results for you and your clients.  And when building a training program, the prescription and selection of recovery methods are equally as important as choosing exercises.  The notion of recovery and its importance to wellbeing has been around for centuries. However, with all of the research (past and present) on this topic, it’s still a bit of a “wild west” when it comes to understanding, prescribing, and implementing recovery methods.
The journey to enhanced knowledge of recovery begins with providing clear definitions to common terms such as recovery, regeneration, rest, precovery, overtraining, underrecovery, and maladaptaion; terms often left to interpretation.  This lesson will explore these terms, define them, and provide both a context and foundation to explore this important topic.
