In this lesson explore a 4 Phase approach to progress someone to higher levels of cardiorespiratory and metabolic function.
Phase 1: Low Intensity SISS and progress duration of work
Phase 2: Add short duration SIIT intervals, starting with 1:3 ratio and progressing to 2:1
Phase 3: Add Moderate Intensity SISS and progress duration of work.
Phase 4. Add Threshold Training or “Sweetspot” training where we challenge our ability to sustain work right at threshold.
For conditioned clients, we can skip right to Phase 3 or 4.
SIIT, like SISS, can also be programmed as part of a recovery session using the Cardio Recovery Interval approach.
