Shifting Patterns 01:07
Shifting Patterns involve moving a mass THROUGH a field of gravity. In other words, the mass has a trajectory that is primarily perpendicular to gravity. Examples include taking groceries out of the trunk of a car and into the house, shoveling dirt/snow, or moving a sled.
Biomechanically, the demands of shifting mass are different compared to lifting as we must move a mass away from our midline, putting considerable tension/force through lengthening tissues. This promotes tensile strength through the connective tissue system. Thus, Sub-maximal loads should be used with Shifting Patterns making ViPR PRO an excellent tool to develop the necessary strength for Shifting mass.
