This is one of my favorite winter gym workouts to prep people for the mountains in the summer. I adjust sets/reps based on the individuals level of training and the other workouts that we have been doing recently. The cool down typically involves some yoga poses. I love doing warrior pose at the end of this workout but I couldn’t find it in the library.
I like warm-ups to be fun, quick and get the client moving in ways that can highlight imbalances that need to be corrected during a session.
Good afternoon everyone, my name is Josh. I had some technical difficulties last week but I think I am squared away and should be all caught up shortly. I have transitioned into program management so I am doing less hands on training of athletes but I have to maintain certifications and continuing education so I am trying out the IOM program to see if I want to have my trainers take the course in the future. I work with tactical athletes and I am hoping to find some new ways to present information to my customers, expand my knowledge base and how I would build a program for someone. Lately, without having seen the 4Q model previously I have been doing a lot of variety in my training modalities with work in all 4 corners. I have been spending a lot of time working on balance and control while moving which has been a tremendous benefit to my ability to move with purpose in the mountains under load. I definitely tend to spend periods of time unknowingly focusing on different quadrants until I get “bored” and then I will mix things up with a new focus.
