Guidelines: Maintenance Programs 01:58
Not all Programs need to be tailored to creating adaptations. Sometimes, there are periods where the goal is to sustain adaptations achieved from previous training endeavours before the next bout of adaptive training. This is where Maintenance Programs are useful.
Guidelines for Maintenance Programs:
- A Daily Readiness Assessment should govern most of the training experience
- Program High Variability to expose the client to different training stimuli
- Train all 4Q with each session
- Limit a Maintenance period for 3 months to avoid complacency
